PHS speech team
The Yellowjacket Speech Team sent half of their team into final rounds at the Section 6-A MSHSL Tournament Saturday. Perham placed second out of 36 area teams. Though the team did well, several key seniors and other speech competitors had heartbreaking results ending their season and their high school career.
Top senior performers this season Amanda Baumgart, Angie Strege, Erica Riestenberg, and Sean Wurgler didn't make it into final rounds.
At the same time the other half of the Section qualifiers for Perham made it into final round with eleven qualifying for State. State will be held at Bloomington-Jefferson on April 22nd. Over 50 members of the Yellowjacket Speech Team will be departing on April 20th for State. As part of the trip, the team will visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art, watch West Side Story in Chanhassen, view AA competition, and compete.
