A resident of Battle Lake, 59-year-old Jeffrey Lee Harms, will have his felony case of fifth degree fraud dropped if he remains law abiding during his probationary period.
Under a Stay of Adjudication, while the probation is going on, this is a pending case, the same as being charged and awaiting trial. Once probation is over the case will be dismissed.
The original case related to Harms dates back to March 26, 2018. He pled guilty on Dec. 10, 2018, and the Stay of Adjudication ruling was issued in county court, Fergus Falls, on Feb. 25, 2019.
Probation will amount to five years. The judge also issued community service work for Harms, restitution and payment of court fines totaling $250 that are due by Oct. 1, 2019.
A chemical evaluation and treatment also was ordered by the judge.
