String of burglaries and vandalism reported on local fishes houses

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office is reminding anglers to remove valuables and stay vigilant after a series of thefts. On the morning of Jan. 6, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received multiple reports of burglaries and vandalism to fish houses on area lakes. More than 15 fish houses on Jolly Ann, Sewell and Ten Mile Lake were broken into and burglarized.

The missing items include a fish locator, underwater cameras, ice chisels, spears, ice fishing rods, spearing decoys, fishing tackle and assorted ice fishing equipment. Many of the fish houses were also extensively damaged by vandalism during the break in. The public is asked to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.
