The following local students were among the more than 150 undergraduates at Crown College who made the spring Dean's List: Annalee Beaver, an associate of arts major from Perham; and Timothy Herrmann, a worship arts major from Perham. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students need a semester G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher. Crown is a private Christian college west of Minneapolis.
Alicia Luhning, of Ottertail, was named to the Dean's List at St. Cloud State University for spring semester 2012. Luhning is majoring in community psychology through the school of health and human services. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students need a semester G.P.A. of 3.75 or higher. St. Cloud State is Minnesota's second-largest university.
Cassandra Beseman, of Perham, has been accepted to the University of Mary in Bismark, N.D. Beseman is the daughter of Bob and Karen Beseman.
She is active in student council, cross-country, track, musicals, plays, speech, basketball, robotics and girl scouts. She is a National Honor Society member and leader in many local volunteer and extracurricular organizations. Also a state qualifier in track, she plans to run for the conference champion Marauders.
Beseman plans to major in athletic training and physical therapy.

Central Lakes College in Brainerd and Staples, Minn., has announced the spring 2012 graduates recognized as having completed degree, diploma or certificate programs. Graduates listed with high honors have a G.P.A. of 3.75 or higher, and those with honors have a G.P.A. of 3.25 to 3.75. Central Lakes graduates include the following New York Mills students: Betsy Helmeke, associate in arts; Megan Schmitz, certificate in matting and framing, with high honors; Megan Schmitz, diploma of occupational proficiency, photographic imaging technology, with high honors; and Malcolm Stroot, associate in applied science, natural resources technology. Eric Gunkel, of Ottertail, graduated with a diploma of occupational proficiency, heavy equipment operation and maintenance, with honors.
Area students were among the nearly 3,000 North Dakota State University students to be placed on the spring 2012 Dean's List. Students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits to qualify.
Students from New York Mills include: Jordan L. Guck, civil engineering; Dane W. Hoffman, food science; and Kayse J. Salo, microbiology.
Ottertail: Tiana N. Lynne, animal science.
