Student news: Graduations and scholarships

St. Olaf College

David Jesus Soto Reyes, of Dent, graduated from St. Olaf College May 26 with a degree in Psychology. He graduated from Perham High School; his parents are David Reyes and Michella Soto.

ND State College of Science

Area students recently earned Associate in Applied Science degrees from the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. They include:

  • Elizabeth Sonnenberg, Perham, Dental Assisting
  • George Kveton, Wadena, Emergency Medical Services

Northland Tech

Area students recently were awarded scholarships from Northland Community & Technical College. The include:

  • Michael Agnew, Mahnomen, Ole & Ruth Tweet Endowment Scholarship
  • Jane Wunderlich, Perham, J.A. Wedum Foundation Activities Scholarship

M State

Emily Fraki, a student at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Detroit Lakes, has been honored as a 2019 Coca-Cola "Leader of Promise," and awarded a $1,000 scholarship for her involvement in Phi Theta Kappa, an international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges. She is a graduate of Perham High School, and is majoring in Business: Management, Marketing and Sales at M State.
