Today, Thursday, April 23, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced the extension of Distance Learning until the end of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the Perham-Dent Public and Private Schools, the end of the school year is set for Friday, May 22, Superintendent Mitch Anderson said in an announcement today on Facebook May 1 and May 4 will be professional development days for staff and students will not be provided instruction for those two days.
Knowing that students will not be returning to school this year, decisions will need to be made about traditional end-of-the-year events such as graduation, prom and athletics, Anderson said.
The school's Meals and Essential Child Care programs will continue through the extension, Anderson said.
