Between May and October, Calvary Lutheran, Perham, will sponsor a summer music series, "Calvary POPS - Music to Move your Soul."
Eight concerts are planned beginning May 11 with the vocal ensemble Lyra from St. Petersburg, Rus]sia, in Calvary's sanctuary 319 3rd Ave. SW at 7:30 p.m.
Other events include: Eyewitness, contemporary Christian music, June 2 at 7 p.m. on an outdoor stage; The Chancellors Quartet, also outdoors June 16 7 p.m.; an Ice Cream Social and Praise Team Songfest from 5-7:30 p.m. outdoors July 12; a musical production of "Godspell" August 2-4 in Calvary's sanctuary at 7 p.m.; Jazz Saxophonist Russ Peterson outdoors on August 17 at 7 p.m.; the Brethren Quartet at the 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. services; and a Duo Piano concert in October.
Outdoor events will be moved into the Sanctuary at Calvary in case of bad weather.
A freewill offering will be taken at each event.

Russian vocal ensemble will launch
concert series at Perham church
Lyra, a vocal ensemble from St. Petersburg, Russia, will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 11 in the Calvary Lutheran, Perham, sanctuary, 619 3rd Ave. SW.
Singers in the group are professional musicians from various churches in St. Petersburg. Some are also soloists in musical theatres. They will introduce the musical heritage of the Russian Orthodox Church as well as traditional folksongs.
The concert is the kick off to the seven-concert, indoor-outdoor series "Calvary POPS - Music to Move your Soul," happening between May and October at Calvary.
