ROTHSAY, Minn. – Authorities are searching for a white male suspect after a robbery at Farmers State Bank in Rothsay on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said the suspect showed a gun to a teller about 1:20 p.m. and took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

They said the suspect fled around the corner of the bank and got into a car, though it’s unknown if a second person was in the car.

According to surveillance images released by authorities, the suspect wore some type of mask and a hooded sweatshirt.

The FBI has been called to assist in the investigation.

Rothsay is located just off Interstate 94 about 40 miles southeast of Fargo in western Minnesota.

Assisting sheriff’s deputies from Otter Tail and Wilkin counties was the Minnesota State Patrol, Sgt. Jesse Grabow said.
