With a dominating performance by the three doubles teams, Perham cruised to a 6-1 win over West Central Area on Tuesday for their first win of the season.
Perham hasn't used the same doubles team for any match so far this season. The new mix used against the Knights seemed to work well, as all three teams won in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 by Mary Tufton and Mariah Muer.
In singles, both Cassie Jensen at No. 1 and No. 3 Abbi Paulseth needed a third set tie-break for wins.

The Jackets struggled last Thursday in a 7-0 loss against Minnewaska. Cassie Jensen won her first set, the only set Perham would win on the afternoon, but dropped the second, before Kasie Rust won the tiebreak, 7-4.
Head coaches Kurt and Kathy Pesch juggled the doubles teams once again, looking for the right match-ups. All three teams lost in straight sets, but played well.
Perham hits the road this week, first heading south today (Sept. 7) to take on Parkers Prairie. Saturday, they head north for the Park Rapids Invite. The Jackets will return home on Sept. 11 for a dual with Park Rapids at 4:30 p.m.
