According to the county sheriff detention center documents, a Perham woman was in custody related to neglect of a child charges. Taken to the county jail in Fergus Falls, reported by law enforcement on Aug. 31, was 20-year-old Amanda Guddendorf. Court records state that a three-month-old child was left alone for more than an hour on Short Road, southwest of Perham. Authorities were at the residence for another matter when child neglect also came to light. The child was later turned over to the father. A court appearance was forthcoming for Guddendorf.
Henning man sentenced
Sheriff deputies reported that a Henning man, Donovan Jahnke, was arrested near West Leaf Lake late in the evening of Sept. 4.
After being stopped for a traffic violation at 11:36 p.m., near the intersection of Highways 108 and 52 north of Henning, he was cited with third degree DWI, obstruction of the legal process and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jahnke was taken, after his arrest, to the Otter Tail County jail in Fergus Falls. He was expected to later appear in county court, Fergus Falls.
Vandalism reported north of Underwood
A homeowner near East Lost Lake, north of Underwood, reported vandalism on his property.
The resident called the sheriff office on Sept. 4. An investigation was continuing.
A male in New York Mills was arrested and charged with terroristic threats on Sept. 4.
A sheriff office report said the man made threats during a domestic dispute. He was taken to the county jail in Fergus Falls.
Drug arrests in Carlisle
Two people were arrested in Carlisle, northwest of Fergus Falls, and charged with drug possession on Sept. 6.
Their vehicle was pulled over by authorities at 7:16 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 88 and 280th Street. One person was additionally cited for possession of a dangerous weapon.
The two people who were arrested were taken to the county jail in Fergus Falls.
Dog purchase scam reported
A Perham area resident who lives near Highway 78 was scammed out of $561.50 in a dog purchase arrangement with a seller in Colorado.
Sheriff deputies, on Sept. 7, said the Perham area resident first sent a moneygram. Then the Colorado seller requested more money, which was sent by the buyer from Minnesota to Colorado.
But as of Sept. 6 there was no information on when the dog would arrive, and the Perham area resident had not heard anything for several days. The county sheriff office was then contacted.
Trailer theft reported near Pelican Rapids
Sheriff deputies reported the theft of a trailer and concrete equipment northeast of Pelican Rapids on Sept. 7.
The location was east of Highway 59, at 450th Street near Prairie Lake.
The trailer, valued at $15,000, is a black 2012 Diamond C brand gooseneck utility trailer. It has tandem axles with a beaver-tail loading ramp and concrete stickers.
Authorities said the trailer was loaded with aluminum concrete form tools with an estimated value of $20,000.
There were no known suspects as of Monday, Sept. 10.
Male surrenders after chase by law enforcement
Otter Tail County sheriff deputies assisted Grant County deputies (Elbow Lake area) in apprehending a male who had left a vehicle and ran into a nearby slough.
The suspect reportedly was armed but the firearm was not found when the arrest was made at 9:40 a.m. on Sept. Sept. 7.
Also assisting were sheriff deputies from Douglas County, the Minnesota State Patrol and DNR.
Two people arrested after Elizabeth vehicle accident
A two-vehicle accident at 2:02 p.m. on Sept. 7 in Elizabeth led to not only two minor injuries but also two arrests.
Three people were involved in the accident.
Arrested for DWI and criminal vehicular operation was 62-year-old Bobbie Dean Inscore of Foxhome. Taken into custody on a warrant (document authorizing arrest) was 46-year-old Hope Kunze of Oriska, N.D.
Reckless driving near Perham
One person was cited by law enforcement for reckless driving on Highway 14, south of Perham, at 10:27 p.m, on Sept. 7.
The driver told sheriff deputies that he was arguing with a passenger and at the same time was experiencing extreme back pain.
Sheriff deputies escorted the driver and passenger to their places of residences.
