Theodore Xavier Bergeron was born on July 27, 1920 in Gary, South Dakota the son of Theodore S. and Hattie (Klein) Bergeron. Ted grew up in Gary, SD and moved to a farm near Marshall when he was ten years old. He married Ethod Olson on December 13, 1941 in Ely, Nevada. After their marriage he was drafted into the United States Army Air Corp. Ted received his GED while he was serving in the Army Air Corp. After the service Ted continued his education by attending the Brown Business Institute in Minneapolis for two years. Ted and his family moved to Cottonwood, MN where he owned and operated Bergeron Motor Sales selling Ford and Minneapolis Moline cars and tractors in Cottonwood. After about 10 years he moved his family to St. Paul, MN where he managed different automobile dealerships. He retired in 1970 and moved to Lake Marion, near Perham, MN. Ted and Ethod lived at the lake for about 20 years before moving to Alexandria in 2006. Ted and his wife wintered in Tucson, AZ for over 30 years. Ted was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. He loved to play the harmonica and the joy of his soul showed when he whistled. Ted always liked eating out and had a great sense of humor. He was a problem solver and enjoyed the challenge of fixing machines. Ted loved animals and also treated everyone he met as his equal, never looking down on anyone. Ted earned the respect of others by his example of loving life, family, children, and helping others. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him.

Theodore X. Bergeron died on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud, MN at he age of 86. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years Ethod Bergeron of Alexandria; sons Theodore D. Bergeron of Dent, MN, Scott Bergeron of Alexandria, daughters; Donna and Joe Ekhaml of Mahtomedi, MN, Louise and John Yelle of Evansville, MN, grandchildren; Joe and Pam Ekhaml of Stillwater, MN, Brenda Ekhaml of Mahtomedi, MN, Tammy and Bob Kramlinger of Mahtomedi, MN, Renae and Quinn Villari of Cottage Grove, MN, Bobbi Lynn Bergeron of Dent, MN, Theodore (TJ). Bergeron of Moorhead, MN, Denise and Dave Niehaus of Perham, MN, great grandchildren; Jacob Ekhaml, Joe Ekhaml, Angela Kramlinger, Gina Kramlinger, Heidi Kramlinger, Cassaundra Villari, Taylor Villari, Nathan Grismer, Tabitha Belmonte, Theodore L. Bergeron, and Amelia Bell, sisters; Mary Welu of Clam Falls, WI, and Kathryn Paulson of Bloomington, MN, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son David Bergeron, grandson Thomas Bergeron, three brothers, and 4 sisters.

A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Al Ludwig officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary and 8 p.m. Prayer Service. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Ekhaml Jr., Brenda Ekhaml, Tammy Kramlinger, Renae Villari, Bobbi Lynn Bergeron, Theodore (TJ) Bergeron, and Denise Niehaus.

Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria.
