A semi truck collided with a train and rolled over in an accident just outside of Perham last Sunday afternoon.

The semi was northbound on 450th Ave. when the driver failed to yield to a BNSF train as it crossed County Highway 80 (East Main Street), according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.

The train struck the rear of the semi trailer, causing the semi to roll over.

No injuries were reported, and there were no hazmat issues. The accident was reported at 2 p.m.

The driver of the semi, Michael Papenfuss of Richville, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The semi sustained more than $1,000 in damage.

Perham police and fire departments responded, along with the sheriff's department.

The sheriff's office and BNSF personnel are investigating the accident.
