Both drivers received serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of State Highway 10 and Becker County Road 54 on the east edge of Detroit Lakes Thursday afternoon.
Clyde C. Baumgart, 56, of Frazee was traveling west on Highway 10 in his 2001 Toyota RAV-4 when it collided with a 2002 Chrysler 300M driven by Toni Jean Parsons, 30, also of Frazee, at about 12:41 p.m.
According to the accident report, Parsons’ vehicle was traveling south across the intersection and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, broadsiding Baumgart’s vehicle.
Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital by EMS personnel.
Becker County Sheriff’s Department officers, along with Detroit Lakes police and fire department personnel were also present at the scene to offer assistance.
