FARGO – A New York Mills, Minn., journalist who left Sanford Hospital on Saturday was located in St. Cloud, Minn., today.
Fargo Police had been looking for Bryce Vincent Haugen, 29, after he left Sanford Hospital in Fargo between 11:15 p.m. Saturday and 12:15 a.m. today.
Lt. Joel Vettel said it appeared Haugen left in someone else’s vehicle.
Vettel said police wanted to make sure he was safe. The concern last night was that he was outside in freezing temperatures, Vettel said.
Haugen’s family notified Fargo Police today that Haugen was located in the St. Cloud area and was transferred to a medical facility, Vettel said.

Vettel said Fargo Police have ended its search for Haugen.
Prior to being located, Haugen called his family and notified them he was safe on Sunday, Vettel said.
Vettel said Haugen had a medical condition his family was concerned about and may be a risk to himself.
A post on Haugen’s Facebook page on Friday said: “I’ve gone off the grid a couple weeks for a full reboot but I can be reached anytime via land line at (phone number).”
A person who answered the phone number listed in his post, who didn’t identify themselves, said Haugen was not there anymore and promptly hung up when The Forum called today.
Haugen’s Facebook page said he started working at the Wadena Pioneer Journal in November as a contributing writer and photographer.
The Wadena Pioneer Journal is owned by Forum Communications Company. The Pioneer Journal’s general manager and editor, Cordell Schott, confirmed Haugen was a freelance writer for the paper since November.
Schott said Haugen left Forum Communications as an employee in November. He was previously the news editor at the paper for about one year, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He previously worked for the High Plains Reader as a contributing editor for several years and worked at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead as a reporting intern in 2006, his profile said.
