Vandalism spree leaves car windows shattered in Detroit Lakes

A half-dozen or so Detroit Lakes residents reported that someone broke windows on their vehicles Saturday night or Sunday morning. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the vehicles.

A half-dozen or so Detroit Lakes residents reported that someone broke windows on their vehicles Saturday night or Sunday morning. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the vehicles.

  • At 8:19 a.m. a man reported the windows had been broken out of his van while it was parked at Peoples Park.
  • At 4:54 a.m. a man reported the back window of a vehicle had been broken out on the 500 block of Main Street. A landscaping rock had been thrown through the back window. Nothing was taken.
  • At 8:41 a.m. a 30-year-old woman on the 400 block of Central Avenue reported a broken driver's side window on a vehicle. Nothing was taken.
  • At 8:53 a.m. a man on the 600 block of West Central Street reported the rear window had been broken out of his vehicle. A rock was found on the back seat.
  • At 9:45 a.m. a female reported that the rear window had been broken on a 1997 Ford Windstar van while it was parked on the 400 block of Willow Street. The van is owned by a 26-year-old man.
  • At 12:11 p.m. a resident on the 600 block of Holmes Street reported that the rear window of a vehicle had been broken with a rock.
