A 42-year-old rural Vergas man was taken into custody after a shooting incident early Feb. 28.
At 3:47 a.m. Otter Tail County Sheriffs Officers responded to a residence on County Highway 41 southwest of Vergas where a 60-year old man had a gunshot wound to his upper right arm.
The man indicated hed been shot by his neighbor, Gerhart Olaf Quiram.
Quiram had fled the scene but was found a few hours later hiding in the woods nearby. Although he was armed with a handgun,
Quiram was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Otter Tail County jail in Fergus Falls.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriffs Office, the victims injury was not life threatening.
He was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Detroit Lakes where he was treated and released.
The shooting is under investigation.
