FERGUS FALLS, Minn. – A 24-year-old Wahpeton, N.D., man was arrested for drunken driving and is under investigation for threatening others with a shotgun in connection with an incident late Friday night.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in a call involving a male possibly threatening others with a shotgun on Grant County Highway 11 at Lightning Lake.

Otter Tail County deputies, who found Brandon Donald Prochnow driving a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description, stopped and detained Prochnow when he was driving northbound on Otter Tail County Highway 1 at 190th Street and 195th Avenue, Deputy Michael Lange said in a report Saturday.

A shotgun was found in Prochnow’s vehicle, and deputies found indications he was driving while intoxicated, Lange said.

Prochnow was placed in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility on probable cause of drunken driving and refusing to be tested, Lange said. Grant County authorities, he added, are investigating the incident at Lightning Lake.
