Visitors to Perham and area residents will all be pleased with the new Wednesday night extended hours for certain stores.
The group of stores known collectively as The Speciality Shops will begin the extended hours on June 7 and continue through August 30. Other area towns have extended hours on Thursdays, but that wouldn't quite work for Perham because "Weekends begin on Wednesdays in Perham."
A unified approach to evening hours, particularly in the summer, has been long discussed by the Chamber of Commerce and retailers--but this is perhaps the time there has been broad support among merchants.

A complete listing of stores and their hours is being developed. The list will be available at the Chamber and at the specialty shops.
Currently the list includes 2U Gifts, At Loose Ends, Back Porch, Bay Window, Bev's Book Nook, Jean's - the Right Plant Place, Jerome's Antiques and Compatibles, Ma's Little Red Barn, Nadine's, Photo Magic, Pink Piglett, Place in the Country/Gathering Grounds, Sorella's, The Pines, and Wild Goose.

Each participating shop owner will display a paper turtle in their store window listing the Wednesday hours.
