The New York Mills Lund Mania parade on Friday night was delayed due to a heavy downpour, but the rain didn't dampen the daylong festivities.
Childrens activities and other events were held earlier in the day, and the parade, which was supposed to start at 6:30 p.m., got pushed back about an hour. The winners of the Lund Mania Fishing Contest were then announced at the end of the parade.
Chad Friederichs and Larry Rick from Breckenridge, Minn., took first place at this year's contest with a total of 17.07 pounds of fish. Second place was local duo Scott Perala and Chad Sonnenberg from NY Mills and Vergas with 16.63 pounds. Third place was Al Linder and Brian Boyne from Brainerd, Minn., and Deer Creek, Minn. with 15.89 pounds.
A total of 48 teams entered this year's contest, according to committee member Mike Parta, six more than last year.
