Wilfred Ledwig Krueger, age 86, of Star Lake, Dent, MN, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 28, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, with Reverend Larry Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the Perham Village Cemetery, Perham. Visitation will be Friday, October 27, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Wilfred was born April 4, 1920, in Cooperstown, ND, the son of William and Martha (Bahls) Krueger. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Island Campaign. He married Bernette Retzlaff in Webster, SD, on June 16, 1948. Bernette died February 4, 2002. Wilfred was a member of the Perham VFW.
Wilfred is survived by one daughter, Marlene (Mike) Thorstad, Fargo, ND; three sons, Rod, Jeff, and Dave (Karen), all of Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Wilfred is preceded in death by his wife, Bernette; parents; sister, Ann Berndt; and brother, Willard.
