A beautiful spring afternoon and a nice crowd in the attendance at Al Krueger Field werent enough to turn the misfortunes of the Jacket baseball team. Perham fell to 1-3 this season after a 8-1 loss to Moorhead in their home opener last Thursday.
Moorhead scored in each of the first four innings for a total of six runs. All six were off Perham starter Tyler Doll, who took the loss with three and 2/3 innings of work.
The Jackets lone run came in the third. Isaac Stoll singled and moved around on singles by Doll and designated hitter Evan Meece.

Stoll gave up one run on four hits in two and 1/3 innings of relief. Tyler Anderson allowed one unearned run in his one inning on the hill.
Kenny Moenkedick went 3-for-4 in the losing effort. Doll finished 2-for-3 at the plate and Meece was 2-for-4.
The Jackets did collect 10 hits, but left 12 runners on base, including leaving the bases loaded in the second and third innings.
We had some chances in the second and third to score a bunch but couldn't get it done, head coach Hans Hanson said.
Perham will look to get back in the win column this weekend at the Park Rapids Tournament. They return to Mid-State competition with a doubleheader at Wadena-Deer Creek on April 25 starting at 4 p.m.
