His vehicle left the north side of the highway, hit an approach, went airborne, landed, rolled and came to rest on the driver's side of the vehicle.

"The vehicle was partially submerged in water," said County Sheriff Administrative Lt. Keith Van Dyke. "A passerby assisted the driver out of his vehicle and he was transported by ambulance to Perham Health."

Koenen suffered an arm injury and suffered generalized pain.

Scam averted

A rural Fergus Falls resident contacted the sheriff office on June 14 to report that she was suspicious of a check received in the mail, with a letter saying she was a select shopper with Walmart. She said what followed were several suspicious text messages.

The check was forwarded to the county sheriff office. The person also replied to the text messages, saying she was in contact with law enforcement. This stopped further text messages.
