Don Odendahl, age 72, of Perham, Minnesota and formerly of Carroll, Iowa, died early Friday, May 31, 2019 at Ecumen Great Lakes Care Center in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Deacon Dave Prenger of St. John Paul II Parish will officiate. Casket bearers will be Braeden Odendahl, Bryant Odendahl, Jake Dennett, Rob Jensen, Bryan Odendahl, and Brett Odendahl. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Friday morning at the Sharp Funeral Home.

Don, the son of Donald and Kathryn (Meyers) Odendahl was born on July 4, 1946 in Carroll, Iowa. He graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1964. He entered the United States Navy in 1964, and was stationed in Sanford, Florida. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Don married Mary Denise Ryan on April 1, 1967. Together they had 3 children, Juli, Steve, and Scott. Don later married Sherry Lynn Toner on September 1, 2001, and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2009.
Don was a long time employee of Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, model airplanes, and woodworking. Upon retirement, he moved to Minnesota where he could enjoy the outdoors and spend more time with his brother, Bob.
Don is survived by daughter, Juli Sump of Omaha, Nebraska; sons: Steve (Melissa) Odendahl of Wichita, Kansas, and Scott (Andrea) Odendahl of Bentley, Kansas; his grandchildren: Danielle Sump of Omaha, Nebraska, Jake and Maddy Dennett, Tucker, Isabelle, and Alana Odendahl of Wichita, Kansas; Braeden, Bryant, and Brock Odendahl of Bentley, Kansas; sister: Donna Mae Mohr; brother Bob (Kathy Odendahl; sister-in-law, Liz Odendahl, and several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jim Odendahl.
