Darlene L. Lubitz
Darlene Lucille (Weidemann) Lubitz, age 89 of Perham, MN passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Perham Living under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and the wonderful staff of Perham Living.
Darlene was born February 13, 1931 to Fred and Christina (Jorgenson) Weidemann in Evergreen Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen Township near Frazee, MN. On June 18, 1952, Darlene was united in marriage to Vernon Herman Lubitz. Together they raised three children on the Lubitz family farm in Corliss Township near Perham.
Darlene worked at the bakery in Perham prior to her marriage. She was a wonderful baker and cook and thoroughly enjoyed making large meals especially for the deer hunters. Quilting was another hobby she enjoyed and was a member of the quilters at church. Together Darlene and Vernon loved to visit and dance. Family fish fry’s were treasured times. She was a long-standing member of the Mary & Martha Society at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corliss township.
Darlene is survived by her children; Linda (David) Kleinke, Jack/Laren (Janice) Lubitz, Leane (Jerome) Trautmann; Grandchildren; Michael (Rhonda) Kleinke, Amy Kleinke, Kimberly (Peter) Erickson, Jonathon (Liz) Kleinke, Jessica (Mike) Dupuis, Jamie (Jon) Wepking, Kurtis (Danette) Trautmann, Timothy Trautmann; Great grandchildren Brittani (Tyler), Brayden, Bryanna, Caleb, Erin, Ethan, Evan, Ciana, Ryleigh, Max, Toby, Hunter, Mason, Nora, Drew and Annabelle; Great great grandchild Bentley; and sister Lorraine Ziegler of Perham.
Preceding Darlene in death were her parents, husband Vernon, infant daughter, infant grandson Jason Lubitz; infant great grandson Levi Dupuis; brother George Weidemann; sisters Annie Rux, Hattie Wanderi and Ida Carstens.
Walk-through Visitation Wednesday, November 4 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Corliss Township near Perham with interment in the church cemetery.
