William Jon Batman

March 30, 1969 -  September 12, 2022

William Jon Batman was born on March 30, 1969, to Cathy Genevieve Smith and Floyd Thomas Batman. He passed away peacefully on September 12, 2002, at the age of 53.

Bill had a wonderful childhood in Perham, MN, where he graduated from high school and earned his private pilot’s license at the age of 17. Bill enlisted in the Army in 1987 and served overseas as a Helicopter Crew Chief.

After Bill’s honorable discharge in 1991, he worked on a fish processor out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Bill began flying in rural Alaska for Yute Air, and then PenAir, while continuing his education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He was an active member of the Iditarod Air Force for many years. Most recently he was a pilot for Alaska Airlines.

He is survived by his mother Cathy; wife Helena; daughter Raquel and grandson Weston; son James and daughter-in-law Carla; and son Connor.
