Rollin B. Wendt

Rollin Wendt, age 60, of Perham, MN died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 while at work in Perham. Rollin Brice Wendt was born February 18, 1960, the son of Eldred and Loretta (Jorgenson) Wendt in Perham. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham.

Rollin was a veteran of the US Army and served as a mechanic in the infantry. While in the Army, Rollin

served one and a half years in Fulda, Germany. Upon his honorary discharge from the US Army, Rollin

continued to serve in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 23 years.

Rollin’s civilian jobs included working at a trucking company in Detroit Lakes, MN, Solid Comfort

Furniture in Fargo, ND, and for the past 10 years, at Kit Masters in Perham. Rollin was very proud of his military service. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and puzzles. He loved his job at Kit Masters and had a real knack for remembering parts details.

Rollin is survived by his mother, Loretta Wendt of Perham; his daughter, Jenna Heisler of Moorhead,

MN; two sisters, Vicki (Mike) Uselman of Austin, TX and LaRae (Paul) Witsaman of Fort Worth, TX; two

brothers, Rodney Wendt of Perham and Ronald (Patricia) Wendt of Shoreview, MN; and numerous

nieces and nephews plus a multitude of friends. Rollin was preceded in death by his father, Eldred Wendt, and his grandparents.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the first responders, Kit Masters, Pastor Andrew Ratcliffe, and Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service.

Rollin will always be remembered for his gentle smile and quiet nature. The last words spoken to his mother were “I love you, Mom.”

A private family memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service. The service will be live streamed on Rollin’s page at www.schoenebergerfh.com. Burial with military honors will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date.
