Wayne C. Romann

Wayne C. Romann, age 98 of Perham, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Perham Living.

Wayne was born in Perham to Frank and Agnes (Oman) Romann on August 28, 1923. He attended school in Perham and then served stateside in the United States Army. In 1948, Wayne was joined in marriage to Pearl Bahls. He and Pearl enjoyed 73 wonderful years together.

Wayne owned and operated Romann Bait in Perham for 40 years. After handing off the bait shop, he switched careers and worked for Daggett Trucking. He enjoyed being on the road and was elated when Pearl obtained her CDL and began driving truck with him. Wayne was always helping others and especially loved giving the ladies at St. Paul’s Lutheran a hand with washing dishes. He also loved fishing and helping Pearl with craft projects such as building birdfeeders. Wayne will be remembered for his kindness and constant hospitality.

Surviving Wayne is his wife, Pearl; children Wayne (Deb) Romann Jr., Shirley (Dennis) Davidson, both of Perham, and June Romann of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Dale (Joan) Romann. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Alfred, Kenneth, and Roy Romann; and sister Helen Fuller.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday January 5, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Perham City Cemetery.
