Why are we paying people not to work?
I've been listening to people on television talking up the Farm Bill that was just passed. I have a couple of questions and comments that I would like answers to from my Congresspeople or anyone who can shed some light on this.
We have a near-crisis in our area. Nearly every employer has jobs that can't be filled. Why do we continue to pay people not to work? What was started as a temporary help for the sick, injured or unemployed has become a way of life for many. Our two senators and our representative have not answered this question, but I'm waiting.—Kenneth Bahr, Vergas
