Hello I am RosaLin Alcoser, the new reporter at the Perham Focus.

My family is from Texas, but I grew up in Zumbrota, Minn. I have spent the last four years studying in the Ozark region of Missouri. In May I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Productions and Journalism at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.

I decided to become a journalist after realizing that I did not want to keep going in computer science. However, I do have a minor in mathematics -- simply because I did not want to waste three levels of calculus!

Over the summer I moved back to Minnesota, then chose to come to Perham to be closer to my mother. I am the youngest daughter of the pastor at Ottertail and Richville United Methodist Church.

The first Sunday that I was at Ottertail United Methodist, the people there made me feel so welcome. The Otter statue in front of the bank is also my new favorite thing -- the first thing that I wanted to go see when I got to town.

Before coming to the Focus I worked as a school photographer. Before that I taught dance for three years in Nixa, Mo., at Divinity Dance Academy.

Photography, video and audio are all hobbies of mine. So if you see me out with a camera while I am not reporting then I probably just really want that shot. I love swimming, climbing things, coffee and horror novels. I also write and produce my own horror comedy in an audio format.

You can contact me at ralcoser@perhamfocus.com, 218-346-1491 or at the Perham Focus office.
