First of all, I would like to send 'congratulations' to Courtney Frohling and Hugues Hames, who were voted Homecoming queen and king for 2021. Also, congratulations to the senior court, which consisted of Lexi Kunza, Greta Hillukka, Mallory Belka, Sydney Anderson, Austin Aanenson, Gage Germolus, Marcus Belka and Colton Hackel. The junior class royalty consisted of Natalie Rooney, Quincy Anderson, Lily Aakre, Evan Kovash, Soren Anderson and Ben Shumansky.
It was evident that school spirit was strong during Homecoming week with the many different events taking place during the week. Students participated in various dress-up days during the week at the high school, while the middle school and elementary school had a variety of activities, as well.
One of the highlights of the week was the Homecoming Parade on Friday. It was great to see all the excitement from the participants involved with the parade, as well as the support from the community -- and the students at each school really seemed to enjoy seeing the floats as they came by during the day, led by the police and fire department.
It was great to see the excited student sections at each of the home events during the week. The students participated in different theme nights for the home volleyball games and brought a new energy into the Hive that we weren’t able to see last year due to the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s great to see the energy back in the school and at the events during the 2021-22 school year.
A special 'thank you' to the staff and students who put together the schedule and the events for Homecoming 2021. It is quite the undertaking to put the events together, and the students and staff did a great job of organizing this great event for the school and the community.
It was a great week and we are already looking forward to next year’s Homecoming!
