My name is Luke Potts, and I currently hold the rank of Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 321.

I am starting my Eagle Scout Service Project, which is to build four kiosks for the VFW Post 4020, and the Ladies Auxiliary Post in tandem with them. The kiosks will be used by the two groups when they distribute ‘Buddy Poppies,’ as well as at other times throughout the year.

According to the Eagle Scout Advancement Packet, Northern Lights Council, “The purpose of an Eagle Scout Service Project is to allow the scout to demonstrate his leadership skills – it is not to just do some work and complete a project.”

I am a huge fan of recycling and reusing unwanted “stuff” to make something useful and creative. I am asking the public for donations of plywood, a half-inch or thicker, as well as non-oil-based paint in various colors. If you would like to donate any supplies to my project or have questions, please feel free to contact me at the number listed below.

I would like to recognize and honor those who have served, and who are currently serving, in the U.S. military from the Perham area. I plan on doing this by adding photographs and military unit patches and pins to the kiosks. I will need donations of these items, which will be displayed by branch of service.

I really appreciate any and all donations.
