To the editor:

Thank you Perham EMS,

Friday, Oct. 2, I had the unfortunate experience of needing, and great fortune of having, the Perham EMS make a call at my home. They are a very professional and amazing group of individuals and I can't thank them enough for taking care of me.

My day started with normal routines. But shortly after completing a workout at the PACC, I didn't feel quite right and I had a little chest pain. After a short rest, I drove home to relax but the chest pain got worse. I suspected what was happening and called 911.

Within five minutes, the EMS team was in my living room providing the great service they do. It's hard to describe the fear when someone looks you in the eye and says your having a major heart attack. But next came calming words: we've got this, we caught this early, medications have been administered to help relieve the symptoms and Life Flight is on the way. A few minutes later we were on the way to the emergency room. The Perham hospital staff and EMS personnel worked diligently prepping me for the flight.

Upon arrival at Sanford in Fargo, their team was ready and I was immediately taken to the cath lab where they completed the procedure to remove the blockage in my heart and put in stents.

I am forever indebted to the Perham EMS, Perham hospital and Sanford emergency personnel.

Thank you for your great service,
