The Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band had the privilege of performing two concerts in Perham on May 11, one at Perham Living and a second at the Perham Center for the Arts. It was a grand evening was for our band! On behalf of all my fellow band members, we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who joined us for those concerts.

Our mission is rather unusual these days: promoting patriotism through our music. To that end, we love providing entertainment for people of all ages, with a special love in our hearts for all military personnel, both active duty and veterans. Our Perham audiences were simply wonderful and with several military veterans at both, it made for a very special evening of musical entertainment. Even more special was the opportunity to recognize a very special WWII veteran, Ernie Poore, who recently celebrated his 101st birthday. It was our pleasure to play Ernie's service corp song especially for him, the Army Air Corps song.

We're especially grateful to our event sponsors: Perham Lions, KLN Family Brands, Kit Masters and Perham Living. Without their financial support, our out-of-town trips wouldn't be possible and people such as the residents of Perham Living wouldn't experience a full concert band performing in their home. We ask everyone to thank all the sponsors for their support of our all-volunteer band and its mission the next time you see someone from their group. A special thanks to Fran Johnson too for helping coordinate the event, the event sponsors and event promotion.

Your Perham Arts Center is one of the band's favorite venues; the nostalgia, décor and warmth of the facility are beholding to its grandeur, and makes for an enchanting concert setting. The band truly is honored to have the opportunity to perform in this venue.

Again, our sincerest thanks and appreciation for a wonderful evening of music and fellowship as we continue our mission of promoting patriotism through music.
