Three standout Perham individuals will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night at halftime of the Yellowjackets’ football game against Detroit Lakes.

Jim Peterson, Brittany Gigstead and Hans Hanson left their mark on Perham and will now see their legacies enshrined among other Yellowjacket greats.

Peterson was a three-sport athlete and graduated in 1984. He played on the defensive side of the football field, wrestled and handled the hot corner for the baseball team.

Gigstead graduated in 2007 after accomplishing a plethora of running accolades. She was described as a great leader by her teammates and superiors in running and basketball.

From 1994-2016, Hanson coached baseball and basketball. His head coaching duties for the baseball team started in ‘98, while he took the helm of the girls basketball team from 2003-07.
