Baseball: Tuffy's Stadium wins Minnesota's Field of the Year honor

Perham's fabled baseball field, Al Krueger Field at Tuffy's Stadium, was honored at a statewide level in January.

PERHAM – Perham’s fabled baseball grounds were honored at a statewide level.

Al Krueger Field at Tuffy’s Stadium was named the Tink Larson Minnesota Field of the Year – with special thanks to the Perham Athletic Association, Save the Ballpark Committee and the Perham Home Run Club. The Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association awards one community this honor each year.

Former activities director Fred Sailer, Perham head baseball coach James Mulcahy, head groundskeeper and Perham Athletic Association representative Bob Schepper and former Perham head baseball coach Hans Hanson accepted the honor at Target Field in Minneapolis on Jan. 14.
