The Perham baseball team traveled to Crosby-Ironton for a section matchup Tuesday April 24 and returned home with a doubleheader sweep of the Rangers.
Although the Yellowjackets got the victories the two games couldn't have more contradictory.
In game one, Perham scored twelve runs in the first three innings and cruised to a 19-1 victory.
The team was disciplined at the plate and managed 17 hits, drew 6 walks and hit line drives all over the diamond. Juniors Jack Stigman, JT Laughlin and Eric Brauch combined for seven hits, six RBI's and seven runs.
Brauch pitched the first two innings giving up just one hit and striking out four of the seven batters he faced.

Coach Hans Hanson said after game two "you can't take anything for granted in baseball. You can't just show up and assume because you can beat a team in game one that the same will happen in game two."
Hanson was referring to the fact that Perham managed just five hits in game two and managed three runs in a game that wasn't won until the last out of the game was made.
Stigman threw a brilliant complete game three hitter working all parts of the plate, with catcher CJ Mulcahy; the duo kept Ranger hitters off balance the entire game.
However, the Yellowjacket hitters had a lack of focus and allowed C-I to stay in the entire game.
With the score 0-0 in the top of the seventh, Brauch singled and Laughlin walked to set up the victory. Senior Ivan Nodlse fought off a two strike pitched and punch a ball over the short stop scoring Brauch. With two out, Gabe Pankonin hit a line drive double to the left center gap scoring Laughlin and Nodlse. Stigman finished out the seventh inning
