Hawley outlasts Perham in conference tilt

The Hawley Nuggets continued their impressive start to the season with a 54-48 home victory over the Perham Yellowjackets in a Heart O’Lakes Conference girls basketball game on Dec. 14 in Hawley.

The Nuggets used a balanced attack to outlast the Yellowjackets. Paige Thompson led the way with 13 points, while Emily Tjaden finished with 10 points. Grace Grani had eight points, all coming in the first half.

The strong night offensively, spoiled a big game from Perham’s Aixa Kolofale. Kolofale led all scorers with 19 points, including three 3-pointers in the game. She scored 12 of her 19 points in the second half. Gabby DeBoer added 13 points for the Yellowjackets.
