Perham rolls to its 23rd victory

The Perham Yellowjackets took control of the game early and never looked back, cruising to their 23rd straight win with a 66-25 victory over Thief River Falls in Perham on Feb. 15.

Three players finished in double figures for Perham with 11 players recording points in the dominant win. Martin LaFond led the way with 16 points. Josh Jeziorski finished with 13 points, while the new all-time leading scorer in Perham history, Jenson Beachy, finished with 11 points.

The Yellowjackets were methodical and used good ball movement throughout the first half in stretching out the lead to 27 points at the half.

The Yellowjackets kick started the game with a corner 3-pointer from Ben Winkels. Tanner Knutson added a first half triple as well.

They wasted little time in the early portion of the second half, scoring 19 of the first 24 points in the early minutes of the second half. Beachy and LaFond hit a pair of 3-pointers during the run. Carter Cresap, Beachy and LaFond finished with two 3-pointers each in the win. The team hit eight 3-pointers.

Brevyn Lingen finished with six points, leading the way for the Prowlers.

The Yellowjackets improved to 23-0 on the season. They close out the home portion of the schedule on Friday, Feb. 23 when they take on Pelican Rapids. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. for the final regular season game at the PWMS gymnasium.
