The Perham boys basketball team picked up a first road win of the season and were victorious for the 30th straight game in blowout fashion defeating Thief River Falls 65-37 in a Section 8AA game at the Brickhouse Saturday, Jan. 16.
The Jackets opened up a 16-point lead in the first half and held the Prowlers to just 17 points leading at the break 33-17.
Six different Perham shooters hit from behind the 3-point arc, led by a pair from Marcus Belka.
The Jackets shot 14-19 (74%) from the free throw line.
Three shooters were in double figures.
Senior 6-foot-5 center Finn Diggins led all scorers with 16 points. Sophomore 6-foot-5 guard Gabe Thompson finished with 13 points and Belka, a 5-foot-10 junior added 10 points.
Jack Manning led the Prowlers with 10 points.
The game was the first of a 6-game road trip for the Yellowjackets (2-0). Perham plays next at Hawley in the first Heart O’ Lakes Conference game of the season Tuesday, Jan. 19. The Nuggets have yet to play a game this season.
