The No. 2 seed Perham Yellowjackets (13-5) will host the No. 7 seed Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines (10-8) in a Section 8AA tournament game Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the teams this season.

Wolverines head coach Kevin Tumberg expects the Yellowjackets to be challenging to beat because of the solid program they have built over the years. "Perham is well coached, fundamentally sound, and has the playoff experience that many other teams do not have," Tumberg said. "We look forward to the challenge."

The winner of the this game advances to the quarterfinals and face the winner of the game between No. 3 seed Thief River Falls and No. 6 seed East Grand Forks. That game will be Saturday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at the higher seed's location.
