NEW YORK MILLS -- The Eagles boys basketball team notched their third win of the season defeating Wadena-Deer Creek 65-51 Monday evening.

Zach Bauck scored 20 points and Charlie Peeters added 19 points as the two-man attack was too much for the Wolverines.

Wadena-Deer Creek's Dylan Dumprope led all scorers with 23 points. Blake Connell added 10 points.

New York Mills led 30-25 at halftime and outscored the Wolverines 35-26 in the second half.

Eight Eagles scored in the game.

Both teams struggled from the free throw line. The Wolverines shot 12-25. New York Mills was 16-31.

The Wolverines sank five three-pointers to just one from the Eagles, but New York Mills made 23 field goals to just a dozen from the visitors.
