It was the best of the best competing at the annual Hamline Elite meet on April 28 at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn.
The Yellowjackets had one of their top runners competing in the event in the form of senior Brynnan Covington. The future Bison qualified for the meet with her time of 11 minutes and 9.52 seconds in the 3200 meter run.

It was another strong day for the remarkable senior, who continued to add to her impressive career at Perham. Covington built on the strong time of 11:09.52, finishing with a new personal record time of 11:06.70. She finished fourth overall in the event out of 16 runners who qualified for it.

The senior runner has carried over the success from her cross country season, right into the track and field season. She finished behind a premier group of runners including Farmington’s Anna Fenske, who won the event. She finished with a time of 10:41.25. Math and Science Academy’s Tierney Wolfgram came in second with a time of 10:52.32, while Minneapolis Washburn’s Emily Covert was third, finishing with a time of 10:56.26. Covington was the highest placing senior in the event, finishing ahead of Edina’s Amanda Mosborg, who came in fifth at 11:10.46.
