Fischer advances to Class A finals

Perham/New York Mills/Henning junior diver Dena Fischer continued her outstanding season during the opening day of the Class A swimming and diving championships at the University of Minnesota on Nov. 14.

Perham/New York Mills/Henning junior diver Dena Fischer continued her outstanding season during the opening day of the Class A swimming and diving championships at the University of Minnesota on Nov. 14.

The diver advanced through the first round of diving and the semifinals by finishing 13th overall and will now compete in the finals on Nov. 16 at the Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Fischer finished with 238.05 points for 13th place overall. The top 16 advance to the finals. She started they day in a tie for 13th place with a score of 152.30 after the opening round of dives.

Becker’s Emi Quill leads the way after the first two rounds. She posted a score of 272.90. Fridley’s Ellie Gunderson is on her heels with a score of 272.45 for second place.

The Class A swimming and diving championships conclude on Nov. 16 at noon at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
