Former Vikings tackle Eric Moss, the older half brother of Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss, has died, the team announced Monday. He was 44.

Eric Moss was with the Vikings in 1997 and 1998 but never played in a regular-season game. He spent most of 1997 on the practice squad and was on injured reserve in 1998.

In an Instagram post Monday, Randy Moss put up a picture of the brothers both wearing Vikings uniforms along with a line of broken hearts and the words, “RIP gentle giant.”

Randy Moss was teammates with his brother in his rookie season of 1998. The receiver played for the Vikings from 1998-2004 and in 2010.

Eric Moss was undrafted in 1997 out of Ohio State. After his two years with the Vikings, he played guard for the Scottish Claymores in the NFL Europe League in 1999.
