Park Rapids-The Perham Yellowjacket girls basketball team’s second half rally fell short on Tuesday evening against Park Rapids Area, 69-65.
The Yellowjackets trailed by 12 at the break, however, outscored the Panthers, 45-37, in a high scoring second half.
It wasn’t enough as the Panthers held off the surge with three players finishing in double figures. Katie Klein finished with 20 points, while Bria Wolff added 16 and Gabie Johnson added 18.
Maria Rutten paced the Yellowjackets. She finished with 32 points leading all scorers. Rutten hit four 3-pointers in the game.
Sydney Roberts added 13 points, while grabbing six rebounds. Janie Wunderlich finished with 11 points.

The ability to get to the free throw line helped Park Rapids Area in the win. The Panthers connected on 19 free throws, while Perham just hit seven.
The Yellowjackets now sit at 3-6 overall. They will continue their extended road trip on Thursday when they travel to Hawley.
