SEBEKA -- Heidi Olson led all scorers with 17 points as Sebeka downed New York Mills 55-46 in girls basketball action Friday night.
The Eagles got a strong performance from Ellie Rutten who recorded a double-double scoring 16 points and hauling in 14 rebounds. Rutten also blocked four shots.
The Eagles jumped out to a 13-4 advantage but Sebeka pushed the tempo back to gain a seven-point advantage at the break 29-22.
"During the last eight to nine minutes of the first half, we couldn't get much going offensively," Eagles' Head Coach JJ Weller said.
New York Mills only made three field goals in the final six-and-one-half minutes of the first half.

Sebeka built a lead as large as 15 points in the second half.
"Defensively, we struggled," Weller said. "We didn't transition well, move our feet well, or rotate at all defensively. It hurt us and it's something we are going to have to learn from and get better at."
The Trojans slowed the pace of play with the lead and road out the clock for the victory.
"This was a good test for us as Sebeka is usually in the mix for the conference title each year."
EmaLeigh Roberts had a dozen points for the Eagles. Amber Barvels scored eight.
