Six straight for Perham girls golf

The Perham girls golf team made it six straight Heart O’Lakes Conference victories when they dominated the field at the Frazee Golf Course on May 15.

The Yellowjackets finished with a team score of 175, winning by 20 combined strokes. Barnesville and Hawley tied for second place honors. Those two teams finished with a score of 195. Pelican Rapids followed in fourth with a score of 211, while Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton was fifth at 227.

Kolbey Bormann

Kolbey Bormann continued her run at the top of the standings. She finished first by two strokes, edging out her teammate, Mallory Belka, for medalist honors. Bormann finished with a 38, while Belka finished with a 40.

Callie Kruse came in third place with a 45 for Barnesville, while she was followed in by a pair of Hawley teammates. Riley Larson-Adams and Mia Tichel finished with a round of 46. Alyssa Allen came in sixth place with a 46 as well.

Allie King finished the day with a 48 for Perham, while Lexi Kunza closed with a 49. Rylee Hunt was right behind her with a 50, while Hope Rosen came in with a 59.

The Yellowjackets have a stranglehold on the team standings. They have six total points for their six HOL wins. Hawley is in second with 13 points, followed by Barnesville in third with 17 points. Pelican Rapids sits in fourth place.

The Yellowjackets are scheduled for a meet at Pelican Rapids on Thursday, May 17 at 5 p.m.
