Fighting through strong wind gusts and fast greens, the Perham boys golf team took third place in the Heart of Lakes meet at Barnesville Thursday, April 29.

According to head coach Peder Butenhoff, the players all made strides forward and showed improvement in their swings and mental toughness on the course.

Perham's Marcus Belka tied for medalist with a 73, but he earned second place overall by handicap hole tiebreaker to Hawley's Jack Justesen. Four of Perham's top six players all showed improvement, which moved the Yellowjackets from fourth place to third place in the conference standings.

The Yellowjackets travel to Breckenridge for a meet Thursday, May 6, at 9 a.m.
