The Detroit Lakes Bantam B boys hockey team captured the championship of the Thanksgiving Classic tournament last weekend at Kent Freeman Arena.

The Lakers advanced out of pool play undefeated to face 3-0 Blaine in the championship game.

DL picked up victories over Mandan 10-0, Langdon 6-3 and Greenway 6-0. Blaine defeated St. Vital 3-1, Crookston 12-1 and Eagan 7-5.

In the final, DL played at a two-to-one disadvantage in players on the ice with only 8 skaters and 1 goalie against Blaine but captured the championship trophy with a 3-1 win.
