River Lakes scored the first four goals en route to a 5-2 non-conference girls hockey victory over Detroit Lakes Friday, Jan. 24.

Aubree McDonagh and Aubrey Griffin each had first-period goals for the Stars and Brooke Lemke followed up with a tally midway through the second. Abby Bullard got the first of two third-period goals at the 7-minute, 6-second mark.

The Lakers got two third period goals two minutes apart from Haley Stattelman and Emma Coley. Coley assisted on Stattelman’s goal at 11:15 to earn a multi-point game.

DL’s Leah Honer made 47 saves. River Lakes goalie Hailey Kraemer stopped 14 of 16 shots from the Lakers.

The Stars improved to 12-9-1. Detroit Lakes dropped to 3-17. The Lakers host the two final home games of the regular season against Crookston Tuesday, Jan. 28 and East Grand Forks Thursday, Jan. 30.
